Lianne Rood was voted as the next Conservative candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex after a five-month nomination process.
The 40-year-old native of Grand Bend, ON was among six individuals who put their names forward to succeed current MP Bev Shipley, who has served the riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex since January 2006.
“I am humbled and honoured to be chosen to represent the people of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for the Conservative Party in the next federal election,” Rood said. “I would like to thank Bev Shipley for representing us so well as our Member of Parliament. Bev and Barb have been tremendous role models to me and I hope to be able to carry on Bev’s exemplary legacy as your next MP.”
