Lambton-Kent-Middlesex remains a Conservative riding as Lianne Rood was elected with 49.23 per cent of the votes.
At her victory party at Willie's Beach Club in Grand Bend Rood last night, Rood thanked her family, campaign team, volunteers and of course, her supporters.
"Thank you Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for putting your trust in me to serve you in Ottawa," she said. "I am humbled and honoured to serve you."
Rood also thanked now retired M.P. Bev Shipley for starting her career in politics and Minister Monte McNaughton for his support throughout her campaign.
Before starting her celebration, Rood thanked the other five candidates who ran great campaigns. Liberal candidate Jesse McCormick came in second with 25.30 per cent of votes, followed by NDP Candidate Dylan Mclay with 15.92, Green Party Candidate Anthony Li with 5.89 percent, PPC Candidate Bria Atkins with 3.10 and Veteran's Coalition Candidate Rob Lalande with 0.56 per cent.
