It was a bitter sweet night for M.P. Bev Shipley, who after nearly 14 years serving as Member of Parliament was celebrated at his retirement party.
More than 400 people attended the event which featured a barbecue by Appin BBQ Service & Catering. A grateful Shipley thanked everyone, specifically his wife Barb and their children and grandchildren for their unwavering support throughout his time as a politician which has spanned more than 30 years. He also thanked his many supporters, volunteers and constituents that have made this part of his career so memorable.
Numerous dignitaries including Minister of Labour Monte McNaughton, the Warden of Middlesex County, Deputy Warden of Lambton County and area mayors recognized Shipley for his dedication to rural Ontario, farmers, small businesses, and his constituents.
Shipley will continue to serve as M.P. until the October 21st election this fall.
