Full house in Wallaceburg at first LKM Conservative All Candidates Night

The Conservative National Council held the first of two all candidates meeting's in Wallaceburg last week at the Canadian Belgian Dutch Club.
Roughly 150 people attended the event, for a chance to hear the six contenders for the Conservative Candidacy in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

Six people are in the running to replace current M.P. Bev Shipley who announced in 2018 he will not be running in the 2019 election. They include Pete Aarssen, Peter Cuddy, Greg Hetherington, Mattheu Kok, Bruce Lamb and Lianne Rood. Eric Schatzler, Chair of the CNC, welcomed everyone and introduced Dave Babbit who acted as moderator. Each candidate was allowed a two-minute introduction before answering a series of 15 questions relating to issues affecting constituents in LKM as well as Canadians as a whole.
A second and final All Candidates Meeting is scheduled for this coming Thursday, March 7 at the Coldstream Community Centre in Coldstream beginning at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with an opportunity to meet the candidates and visit their tables.
