About your MP

Prior to getting elected as a Member of Parliament, Lianne was an entrepreneur, farmer, and a political staffer in the Stephen Harper government. She grew up on a vegetable farm in Grand Bend, Ontario. This has given her unique insights into the on-the-ground realities that come with farming, which helped develop her deep passion for agriculture. To this day Lianne is actively involved in the potato business with her brother.

During her 6-year tenure working in Ottawa prior to getting elected, Lianne worked for Bev Shipley and was a Special Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Gerry Ritz. She helped develop and pass the Marketing Freedom for Grain Farmers Act, Bill C-18. She also served as Assistant to David Anderson in his capacity as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture.

Lianne is passionate about serving others. She focuses her efforts on farmers, seniors, veterans, families and small business owners. Since getting elected in 2019, she has been drawing on her experience and hard work ethic to serve the people of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

In December 2019, Lianne was named Deputy Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food and has been busy meeting with stakeholders from across Canada. In September 2020, Lianne was appointed as the Shadow Minister for Agriculture & Agri-Food in Erin O'Toole's Shadow Cabinet. She will continue to stand up for her constituents and Canadian farmers and hold the Liberal government to account.
